Vincent Rumahloine

Interview with artist Vincent Rumahloine in Contemporary And for the series Over the Radar

Vincent Rumahloine’s community-based work has taken him on residencies to Prague, Stockholm, and Addis Ababa, often incorporating the development of locally relevant archives. For his series Moving Museum (2015–ongoing) he collects local stories and presents them in locally built structures. The Exchange (2018) combines photography and coffee to start dialogues amongst strangers in Addis Ababa. And his most recent work, Façade: Banda Niera (2019), questions local access to Indonesian history in the Maluku Islands, once famously known as the “Spice Islands.”
