Iris van Herpen: Collaboration

Collaboration is a frequently cited attribute of Dutch fashion designer Iris van Herpen’s work. This article investigates examples of collaboration undertaken by van Herpen in an effort to bring more precision to the broad use of the term. Three different longstanding collaborations are considered: Philip Beesley, Salvador Bred and 3D printing. A discussion of the role of open source strategies in collaborative work follows. “Iris van Herpen: Collaboration” is part three in a trilogy of articles that follow “Iris van Herpen: The Body” and “Iris van Herpen: Tools”.
